​BUILDING THE FLETCHING JIG

Building the jig is quite straight forward, However, the jig uses a couple of sizes of bolts with each having a couple of different lengths.  The jig will take around 25 minutes to build from scratch so find a table to lay everything out on.  Sort the nuts and bolts into piles of sizes and lengths.  Go and get a brew, you'll need it.

When building the jig, keep all nuts and bolts "snug but loose" so that it can "flex" a little as you assemble the jig.

First of all build the BASE of the jig.  This takes care of the extra wide rubber feet and the associated wide black covers.  When connecting the "bent feet" ends to the crossmembers use the VERY SHORT BOLTS.  This will save you much time later as you will have not have to go around the jig and find where you used them to connect other parts! 

On the 2 outer metal plates there are 3 marks (Left, Centre, Right) on one each of the sides, these go to the OUTSIDE of the jig for easy alignment when building your arrows.

As quick guide, thin metal to metal plates use the shorter nuts and bolts.  The thicker assemblies to metal plate uses the longer nuts and bolts.

Once built. go around the jig to tighten everything up.
